The autumn session begins on Wednesday 7th October, 10.00am for coffee and chat, the presentation starts at 10.30. The subject is the Battle of El Alamein, which began on 23rd October 1942 and saw the beginning of the defeat of Axis forces in North Africa.

The group is open to anyone with an interest in the military aspects of history and no prior knowledge or expertise is necessary. The programme covers a varied selection of topics, including battles, campaigns and the ways that warfare changes over time. We offer occasional visits to local battlefields and museums.

Recent topics have included: The Suez Crisis, Field Marshall Alan Brooke, the Sherman Tank, the Battle of the Somme - we do like to mix it up a bit! If you are interested, why not come along and see what you think!
