The Thursday book group began six years ago because of the need for a second group. Our meetings always start with a coffee/tea and biscuits.
We meet once a month to discuss a book that the members have selected and we have all tried to read in the month before the meeting. We take it in turns to choose the book and lead the discussions giving everyone the chance to express their opinions which often lead to interesting and diverse thoughts and sometimes to a conversation on moral issues and life’s experiences. Everyone is free to contribute as much or as little as they like.
We plan our booklists in advance and try to include a variety of authors and genres, either borrowing books from libraries or buying either in hardback or softback new or from charity shops or in digital format on Kindle.
New members are always welcome to our friendly dynamic discussions.
