Meeting Fees
Most groups have a fee to cover the room rent, £2 per meeting. However Croquet charges more. The Wigston speaker meetings and Serendipity at Great Glen are free.

Our Membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March year. Our rates for Membership for 2026/27 are:

FIVE SIMPLE STEPS TO TAKE TO JOIN Great Glen Oadby and Wigston (GGOW) u3a:
1. Please take a few moments to read our Information Sheet.
2.Print and complete our Membership Application Form(s). Joint has a page far each member. If you need us to send you a form please phone the Membership Secretary (see Committee for number) or email Membership.
Emergency Contact Details (on the application form) In case you are unwell at an event and we need to contact someone about your situation, please let us have details of the person you would like us to contact, after you have gained their permission. It is optional for you to give us such a contact on the membership form, but it can be especially useful to Group Leaders.
Are you able to GIFT AID your subscription?
As a Charity we welcome your gift aided subscriptions so, if you are a tax payer and would like to help us this way, please print and complete our Gift Aid Declaration form(s) and send this WITH your Membership Application Form(s). If, at any time in the future, you cease to pay tax, or change address please let us know.
3. Send the completed application form(s) and gift aid declaration form to the Membership Secretary, GGOW u3a, 6 Wych Elm Close, Great Glen. LE8 9GY, OR email a scanned copy to membership@ggowu3a.co.uk

The basis for collecting your details is also shown on our legitimate interest assessment. Please read our Privacy Policy, you need to accept this when filling in the membership form
4. Payment
Please make your payment by bank transfer. Our bank details are shown on the Application Form. Please make sure we know who you are by entering your name as a reference. Our account is with CAF bank and is a business account. If you prefer to pay by cheque make this payable to "Great Glen u3a". (This is the short name agreed with our bankers) and attached to your application form. Cash is accepted following prior arrangement with the Membership Secretary.
5, Welcome Pack
The Membership Secretary will send you a welcome letter via email, or post, but please allow 5 days for our reply. We do not normally issue Membership cards but if you need one, please ask.
Your Benefits
You will soon have access to over 40 exciting groups. Please contact any of the Group leaders who will be pleased to give you details of their group. You may join any group as long as there is space for you.
New members meeting
You will be invited to join our twice a year New members coffee morning. This is a good opportunity to meet fellow new members and some of the Committee and Group Leaders and to ask questions in a relaxed and informal setting.
What does a zoom meeting cost?
Any group meetings via Zoom are charged at £1 per person per session, or £10 for the year, if there are 10 meetings. However Zoom Quiz is half price from 1st July.
