What do we do?

Our aim is to provide continued learning, and the opportunity to make new friends, in a sociable environment. You can join a wide range of interest groups run by our members and attend our monthly meetings with a visiting speaker (See recent monthly meeting speakers). All members are emailed our newsletter monthly, or bimonthly if printed see a copy at Newsletter.

We have educational, physical and social activities, but above all it needs to be FUN. We have no formal tuition and no qualifications are required. Groups function on a self-help basis. Members decide the group activities. Through the u3a we all develop skills, perfect a hobby or just enjoy the company of companions. Whether one wants to enjoy music because it sounds nice, or wants to delve into the life of the composer is decided by group members.

Already a member of another u3a?

We welcome members of adjoining u3as. For £5 you join as an Associate Member.

When do we meet?

We meet mainly in the day-time.

What do we charge?

There is an annual membership fee which you can see on the Join page. Members and prospective members also donate a £2 fee for each meeting. It's more for Croquet.

Can I attend a Taster Session?

You can attend one group meeting and/or one monthly speaker meeting before deciding whether to join our u3a.
Please contact a Group leader if there is something of interest or just turn up at the Wigston monthly speaker meeting or Serendipity at Great Glen.

When do you have an Open Day?

Open Day 2022

We have not yet scheduled an Open Day for 2026.

You may wish to attend the New members meeting instead.

See details on our Events page.

What can you offer us?

If you have a hobby you would like to share, let us know and we can help you share it with others as a one off or long-term series.

How can you help?

We encourage you to volunteer to help the u3a. We need new Committee members, also Group Leaders and help to set up and provide refreshments at the monthly speaker meeting and serendipity, etc.
